Monzo offer a free bank account for under 16s, with controls set by their parent or guardian.

Kids get their own neon card and can see their money in the Monzo app. Parents or Guardians can keep an eye on the account, set spending limits and schedule pocket money.

Very easy to use.

Very easy to use. Great visibility of kids' transactions. Positive email messaging around encouraging saving and it's so easy for them to set up saving pots, that they can choose to do it themselves. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Why I love monzos kids accounts

Great parental control and access allows me to teach my child about budgeting and saving with pots and links to a savings account. Easy to set up pocket money payments and make one off payments as well as being able to receive payments from relatives for birthdays etc. Happy with my adult account and this has just made budgeting even easier.
