Wouldn't bank anywhere else as a family!

User friendly, simple, safe secure service, love the brand, does everything we need. Give our children the independence to start learning how to manage their money, allowing us to monitor and guide from a distance. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Monzo’s under 16 accounts are absolutely fantastic,...

Monzo’s under 16 accounts are absolutely fantastic, I have opened one for each of my children. They are easy to use and have a range of colours to choose from for the card which my kids love! In the event of a lost card, it is really easy to freeze the card and order a new one of which their is a small fee but for how quick it is re made and delivered it is so worth it! I have had experience of dealing with their customer service and they were really informative, friendly and helpful. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Excellent for U16

My daughter (now 13) has been using Monzo for about 3years now. Its a great under 16 card. She has learned money management, savings and how to control spending. It also alerts me whenever she buys something, and stops her from purchasing from stores she shouldn't be (eg off licence etc etc). In addition, I can freeze her card if she looses it (which she's done twice now!) and getting a replacement is super quick and easy (much faster than my own high street bank!) Just great all round. Extremely user friendly app

Extremely user friendly apo. No fuss transferring between accounts a great interest rates.very easy to open a savings pot and with the round up facility, every little helps to add to savings. The under 16s current account and savings acc allow my teenager to learn about money and savings.. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Controlled responsibility

I’ve had a Monzo account since before they had a banking licence, so when the Under 16s account was launched I was an early adopter. We found it gives us enough control while giving our daughter the freedom and responsibility to manage her own spending. Although the customer service experience is different to traditional banks, I’d seldom go to a branch and now there aren’t any, so comparing Monzo to traditional banks’ call centres, they’re far more responsive and I’ve always found both free and paid accounts offer excellent value and a rich feature set.
