Monzo user from the beginning

I’ve been with Monzo from the beginning, joining in spring 2016. Finally a modern bank with a modern app, experience and infrastructure. I was first brought to Monzo because of the instant spend notifications, which at the time were rare with any kind of UK account. Since then, Monzo has been outstanding especially in terms of customer service. Using the in-app messenger, you can easily get support and in a much more comfortable way (calling is inconvenient and can be stressful) and receive a response within a few hours usually at most. Since then, Monzo has continually added new features and improvements. I started with pre-paid and moved my account to a current account as soon as it was available for testers. Simple things like having the senders bank details in the transaction make banking a lot easier, and Monzo has always been the fastest at transferring money. I have never waited more than a minute to send a faster payment whereas some other banks delay sending by up to a couple hours (and not transparent to the user) for “fraud” checks that seem to happen even to existing payees sometimes, very inconvenient. I use the payment splitting features on a regular basis to get paid and pay friends for small expenses. Monzo has matched and exceeded traditional banks in much less time. How banking should be done.

Banking with Monzo doesn't feel so restricted or dated like common banks. Everything is intuitive easy to use and more pleasant to deal with, when handling direct debits, monitoring expenses, looking at meaningful transaction details to navigating through the banking app. This is what a modern bank looks like and the current big names have a lot of catching up to do. A refreshing change form most banks

Amazing for a student

The monzo banking app has revolutionised the way I spend and save my money. The piggy bank function, which rounds up my payments to the nearest pound and deposits it in a saving pot has enabled me to save a decent amount whilst at university. The ability to track my payments in real time, has again enabled me to be in full control of my spending. The monzo current account is absolutely amazing. Reviewed on: 14th January 2019

Brilliant app, excellent customer service

I’ve been a customer from the early days beta days and the functionality has gone from strength to strength. Everything is clear and visable within the app from basic debits and credits, through to joint accounts, savings pots, budgeting, chat to customer services. It’s enabled me to implement budgeting across both a single and a joint account, I can easily view where and what I’m spending on, which can help me budget and manage me finances better both short and long term. I love how all the data is at my finger tips across all my devices. I e also used the card abroad in numerous countries with ease - no more ordering currency or accepting obscene charges. On the rare occasion I’ve face an issue (and the issues have been minimal and minor), customer service is easily contactable via in app chat and respond quickly.
