Awful customer service

We bought a pet insurance for a friend who adopted our cat. We asked to post the policy details to the friend who is in her 80s. We chased for weeks and despite confirming the address and name of the policy holder they “refused to post the papers for privacy reasons”. Never dealt with a team with such a lack of understanding what privacy means. We never asked to disclose any personal information and only asked to send some papers to the policy holder whose address and name was on the policy. Only when we made a formal complaint the poorly trained employees finally agreed to post the necessary documents to the policy holder. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2024

Reliable and helpful

The phone line support from a Veterinary nurse really helped when my cat was poorly. And when I renewed they negotiated on the price, with few quibbles. Reviewed on: 13th July 2020

Refused 150 claim on a 650 policy

DONT TRUST MORE THAN PET INSURANCE - Ive just had a claim denied. Tried claiming £150 and the policy cost me £650. Told by my vet to leave a lump until it caused him issues in 2017. He was struggling breathing as on neck so we had it removed. Claim denied even though I was following the vets advice. Total con. AVOID Reviewed on: 3rd June 2020

Increased Pet insurance cover and refuse to pay for claims

I have been with Morethan over 10 years for my pet insurance. My insurance has jumped for 40% from last year they said due to the 3 claims I made over the years and each claims were less than £100 I got back. I am now paying £80 per month to get coverage. Recently, my cat needed to go for emergency with the pre existing condition which should be covered, but they refused my claims. What is the point to pay for insurance that doesn't cover??? Thats very bad practise and FCA should really look into pet insurances. Reviewed on: 27th April 2020

Take take take

I have been with more than for years. Every year the month cost has gone up. I accepted this as part of my dogs age. But this year it went up from just over £50 a month to £74. I said enough is enough. I called up as I was moving house too. I was moving 2 streets away. They told me it was to go up again because of the post code I was moving to. More people make a claim from the new post code. So I would have to pay even more now. I complained and stated I have never made a claim so why should I be penalised? They agreed after some persuasion. They agreed to give me a £150 annual discount. Bringing my bill to £63 per month. I wasn’t happy but because I was moving I just agreed. The next month £270 was taken from my account. I complained again and again, sent them statements from the bank. They just didn’t understand what the problem was. Eventually it came down to them setting up another policy without letting me know. They only ever refunded me £24.95 and two lost of £50 as compensation for my trouble. I was so fed up with this I just sent a few e-mails of cancellation. They agreed to this and I was in my way. Goodbye Morethan!! Until TODAY!! They have sent me a letter asking for £639.10 for my years subscription!! What the hell is going on!! How can a company such as this have such a high level of incompetence? Disgusting people don't USE

I’m in tear’s writing this, we cancelled are pet insurance dew to the coronavirus 26th March, I had a e-mail from them telling me it was cancelled as of the 1st April and found out today they STOLE £220.00 out of my account on the 2nd April, I have no money for my shopping and worst still no money to feed my self isolating mother who is 85. We’re all in the same boat but more than are PIRATES….Shame on them !!!!!! Reviewed on: 2nd April 2020

Ripping off customers with huge price increases

The approach to annual price increases is terrible. They will write to you just before renewal and hike up your premiums 25-30%. If you ring then they will reduce this which is poor. Why not apply a nominal price increase of a few percent. This whole approach is a deliberate ploy to rip off loyal customers. BEWARE! Reviewed on: 2nd March 2020

Worst and most frustrating company I've ever had to deal with

I’m not one for leaving bad reviews but More Than are the most frustrating company I’ve ever had to deal with. I made the mistake of choosing them for pet insurance and have had issues since day one. Firstly they noted my cat’s DOB down wrong, stating he was a year older than he actually is. When I queried it, they stated it was my fault as I told them the incorrect date during our initial telephone conversation. I requested to hear the recording of this initial conversation as I had no memory of giving the wrong date. They fobbed me off for months saying they were looking for the recording and every time I phoned up to chase it, they said no request had been made but they would put it through this time. Finally, I was told that they’d found the recording, listened back to it and that it was my fault. I said, fine but please send me a copy of the recording so I could hear it for myself. First they said they would but again I never heard back. Then when I chased it, they changed their minds and said I couldn’t have access to the recording. Combine this with the fact that they’ve tried to hike up prices by about £150 each time for the last two years even though my cat is only 4 and I’ve never put in any kind of claim, I’ve decided not to waste any more time on them. I’ve already wasted more than enough. I certainly would never use More Than for anything going forward and I’ll go as far as actively dissuading anyone I know from using them either. Con Artists

My insurance jumped from £40 per month to £150 as my dog required an operation to remove his eye when I queried the extortionate increase I was advised “well we have paid £2000” for your dogs operation which I found extremely callous .Basically they paid for the operation but were now trying to get their money back. Have paid claim without fuss.

My dog has recently been diagnosed with an ongoing condition, and so far More Than have paid his bills without fuss. However I found their initial claim form a bit intimidating, and despite asking them to paythe vet directly, the second payment came to me. Not really a problem, but stopped me giving them the full 5 stars. Reviewed on: 29th July 2019
