Complete waste of premium

My wife and I ( 78yrs and 75yrs ) went on a coach holiday to Killarney in Ireland . My wife had the great misfortune to suffer a fall on a lunch stop on our way to our hotel in .killarney . She was examined at Killarney Hospital and referred to Tralee . It was a bad break that required surgery and a three day stay in hospital. Despite having receipts for 1 doctors initial referral 50 euros. 2 taxi fares , all transport was at our cost 300 euros . 3 Necessary drugs 30 euros . and various incidentals . Nationwide were were completely unhelpful, and in short we will not receive a penny . It took less than 5 minutes on the phone to take our annual premium , and possibly over three phone calls approx 45 minutes of placing obstacles at every point possible. Even to the point of saying that we must provide them with a ferry ticket which none of us had . It was done in a party of 48 people . I am tempted to use some Very colourful language , but I will close by saying that at least Dick Turpin wore a mask . These b******s don’t . . Reviewed on: 19th October 2018

The customer service dealing with issues, suspected fraud is brilliant. Had 4 breakdowns( one in France) - saved in less then an hour fuss and paper free. Lost phone- replaced in 2 days. Couldn't be more happier with their service. Well worth paying the small fee knowing they got your back and won't question you like criminal every time you call them x Reviewed on: 17th October 2018

I have have used the products and it works

have had the account for years and have used the breakdown cover, the travel insurance and the mobile phone cover. The test is that when needed the product provided the insurance cover and I was treated fairly. The standard of cover offered is very good. The service is prompt and easy to access. Breakdown Cover with Nationwide

Broke down very busy area spoke to a lovely lady who took all information made us feel at ease and kept in touch. Breakdown assistance within 35 mins very helpful mechanic bought vechical back home on transporter. Thank you to all great staff, amazing service. Reviewed on: 16th July 2018

How every 'bank' should be

I can't rate Nationwide highly enough. Their products are extremely good value for money; their staff friendly helpful & respectful, and of course their ethos means you know that they are doing right by you, instead of lining the pockets of shareholders and fat cat CEOs. The FlexPlus account is excellent value - the breakdown cover, travel insurance and mobile phone insurance have all been used by me and there has never been a single issue. Their online banking service is very user-friendly and has a good interface too. I have my mortgage, loan, Child ISA, credit card and joint current account with them and would highly recommend all of them. Excellent stuff, if only more companies were like them... Still waiting after 2 months

I put in a claim for travel insurance since 23rd April, 2018 and provided all the documents they required. I was contacted to send proof of my watches which I did on the same day. A week after that, I was asked to send estimate to replace the watches. I have not received any correspondence from anyone since I put in the claim. I feel very disappointed with the service Flexplus travel has provided. I call every week and still have not got any update on my claim and recently had to file in a complaint. Quick pay out for stolen phone

Been with nationwide years now first time I had to use any of the insurance due to a stolen phone. Was worried as the phone original order did not have IMEI number on which is a requirement. I wrote in claim this fact and gave a snapshot of my find my phone app with the IMEI number. Very happy that they sent me a new phone very quick Reviewed on: 23rd June 2018

FANTASTIC VALUE

I have had my Nationwide Flexplus Account (paying originally £10/month) now £13/month for 3 years now. In the 2 experiences I've had to claim on their "Travel" insurance and their "Mobile phone" insurance, I have nothing but praise for them. It was unfortunate that I was unable to travel to Las Vegas 2 years ago (advised by the hospital) and Nationwide customer service operator was very helpful, understanding and apart from paying the usual excess, I was re-reimbursed for the whole amount. Recently (3 months ago) my daughter had her Iphone knocked out of her hand and the screen shattered - she was really upset and once again Nationwide customer service was very helpful and understanding and apart from a little paperwork to fill in and "excess" to pay, she was given a replacement with 2 weeks. I think the £13/month is definitely worth paying with all the other advantages of the package account - better interest rate on savings account, my husband is still covered with travel insurance but I pay extra now that I have a "condition", cash withdrawals abroad . I would definitely recommend Nationwide Flexplus Account. Reviewed on: 17th April 2018
