Great value for money

Although it is a paid account the benefits such as Travel Insurance, Mobile phone insurance, and breakdown cover means that it is great value for money. I have had to use the mobile insurance a couple of times and had no issues what so ever Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023

Breakdown Cover from the AA is broken

Have been a nationwide customer for 20 years and benefited from mobile insurance and from breakdown cover. The breakdown recovery has now been taken over by the AA and service has dropped from 5 stars to 1 star. We have broken down twice in 6 months. The first time we waited 8 hours for recovery and the second time it was 5 hours. No proper updates and ithe AA do not have the vehicles or the staff to handle this contract. Nationwide need to change their mobile phone insurance provider. ASSURANT are CROOKS

We have a flex plus account primarily for the mobile phone insurance - however now shall be changing due to a horrible experience with Assurant / Lifestyle Services Group These people are absolute crooks, who will take no responsibility, and have a complaints procedure which essentially boils down to - 'because that's what we have decided' - with no satisfactory reason why they can't do something - they just won't. I sent my device off to be repaired, and am satisfied they repaired the device before they sent it back, however upon receiving the device it was damaged. When an item is damaged in the post the sender has to make the claim - they are refusing to claim for the damage with DPD because they have a 'partnership'. The sent the item back in less protective packaging that I sent it to them, which wasn't up to the standards advised on DPDs own website. They are refusing to take any responsibility for the damaged device, and as I cannot claim with DPD I have no recourse. I put in my complaint stating that I received the device back damaged - and yet the wording in my complaint assessment states 'the device was returned to the customer and then BECAME damaged' - which is not the same thing at all. They have refused to alter the wording or reassess the complaint despite advising me to contact them if I felt the information was incorrect - which I did. They continue to maintain the packaging is adequate - despite their own courier saying differently and are offering me no reassurance if I put in a new claim that they will protect my device any better when returning it to me. It is clear that they care very little for their customers - I was told 'damage can't have occurred during transit', which a completely unsubstantiated claim - and obvious incorrect, as I have experienced the opposite. If you can take your business else where please do, even if its just for me stuck here with my broken phone trying to fight their wall of corporate insolence. A company so greedy it would rather defend its (notoriously rubbish) courier - than help its customer. Reviewed on: 14th February 2023

Fabulous Account at a Small Cost

The Flex plus account offers super insurances at a very low monthly cost. I don't need to worry about travel insurance, phone insurance or car breakdown. The App is brilliant and so secure, and because you can call straight from the App, so is telephone banking. I've always received great customer service and on tge occasion when my Caribbean Cruise triggered multiple fraud blocks, the Nationwide said they were sorry, paid me a small amount of compensation, which I was not expecting at all, and it so far hasn't happened again! I know I could get a cheaper package deal, but the security the App offers me is worth the extra few £. And to top it all, the Nationwide invests ethically which I am delighted about. I'm looking forward to moving my mortgage here in 2024 too away from the oil and gas investing bank that I am currently wedded to. Well done The Nationwide. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Easy as pie with cream on top

The banking app is so easy to use for generally keeping track of your money or opening other accounts such as a savings account. It's a no brainer with the benefits you get with the Flexplus account for £13 a month..phone insurance cover,breakdown cover and reputable world wide travel insurance. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023
