Review of the Nationwide, Regular Savings:

Competitive account - great interest rate, but for only 1 year!

4
To open this account you need to be a Nationwide customer. The account is easy to set up using online banking, and best of all, pays an unbelievable interest rate of 5% per annum. You are allowed to pay in up to a maximum of £500 per month, and the downside is that the account matures at 12 months! With most accounts these days paying a derisory low amount (less than 1%), I considered it worth starting the Nationwide Regular Saver and collecting a good rate of interest, although on a small amount of money, and short length of time! I would recommend the account, and hope that Nationwide can offer a competitive account when this account matures. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016

Super easy to open up online and good rate of interest

Super easy to open up online, and has a good rate of interest rate. It would be even better if there wasn't such a low deposit limit. Reviewed on: 22nd February 2024

I decided to put the maximum of £200 per month into the flex regular saver issue 2 and so far so good as by the end of the term I should have made a reasonable return. I also use their credit card and current account to manage pay and bills. Reviewed on: 20th February 2024

Good savings rates, good app

5
Nationwide always seem to offer really good savings rates for loyal customers, particularly the regular savings accounts. One small thing I really like about their app is that you can see the interest rate easily for each account, this is such a simple thing but not always easy to find in other bank's apps. It helps me stay across my finances and know when I need to move my money around. I also have a tracker mortgage with them and similarly can review the rate at any time in the app easily. The only thing about Nationwide is it requires more authentication when paying a new payee, you need the card reader which is a hassle. Barclays and Chase are much easier for transferring small amounts to friends etc. Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

Great local bank, putting customers first.

Unlike most main stream banks, you can still find a Nationwide branch in local town high streets offering a good 1-1 service. The interest rates on savings are competitive especially the current regular savings product offering 8%. The Nationwide banking app is easy to use for managing your current & savings accounts, paying bills etc. Reviewed on: 1st February 2024

Nationwide currently offers the best Regular Saver interest available at 8% on up to £200 a month. This is a fantastic offer and came strongly out of nowhere as Nationwide don't typically place in the charts for savings rates which is the only real downside, most of their other products are woefully behind the current market rates.
