Good basic account, not good for travelling abroad though.

This is a good basic account, but there are a few limitations on the web access (refreshes the screen while you are trying to log in and transaction cannot be si ply copied and pasted into excel due to double lines (copy to word first)) and if you're travelling abroad, you can only give them a limited number of destinations and EXACT days you will be in each country - useless if you're travelling on a flexible timeline! Easily the best account I've ever had, at the worst time...

Many people will need the benefits of a basic bank account at some point in their life, whether they've got themselves into financial difficulties, or have been forced there by the actions of others. In times gone by, such people were sneered at by the big banks but that's no longer the case and while many banks tread water, Natwest have gone the extra mile and provide a basic account (Foundation) that makes it an altogether pleasurable experience. I required a basic bank account myself a few years ago, creditors going bust on me forced the close of my business and bankruptcy followed. I chose a Natwest account because of the number of branches in my area, the ease of use and, believe it or not, the staff at my local branch, convinced me it was the right choice. My financial issues are behind me now, fortunately, but my basic bank account is still in place and continues to be used on a daily basis. It's so easy, there is no stigma attached and there's no danger of missing payments, all-in-all, I couldn't be happier with the product. Reviewed on: 18th November 2016

Unprofessional and untrustworthy

I tried to log in to my online banking one morning and my account had been closed without any notice! I was deeply shocked and when I called the bank to ask what had happened to my account the customer service adviser told me that they had closed several accounts and that they do this from time to time and apologised!!! It wouldn't have been so bad if I had been notified of this and been given some time to open another bank account. Reviewed on: 17th November 2016

Always had positive experiences

In branch, staff as always very efficient and helpful. As to on-line, easy to use site and I've been able to do a whole raft of things without the faff to calling. Excellent. Reviewed on: 16th November 2016
