Overdraft facility request denied

3
When my husband and I got separate bank accounts as we were splitting up ,I chose the NatWest and he choose Barclay's . On opening his account he was immediately given an overdraft facility of £250 with a reserve of a further £200 emergency fund he can draw on .This was because changing our wages to a new bank might cause a hiccup and bills due out risked being unpaid . As I said I chose NatWest but when I opened the account I was totally refused any overdraft facility even though I only asked for £100 .My wage was higher than my husband annually by several thousand but he was granted his and I was refused . The same circumstances were explained to the bank manager but in my case I felt frustrated by the lack of understanding . Reviewed on: 4th December 2015

Excellent local bank, really wonderful when my relative died and I had to release funds for the funeral

Nat West bank staff in Ashford Middx were absolutely wonderful when I had to close a relatives' account when they had died and release funds for the funeral. Their customer service was outstanding, sensitive and I could not have asked for better. A personal touch and the absolute best of our local banking service. Reviewed on: 27th November 2015

Love the staff in our branch!

We do banking daily in our branch so know the ladies in there quite well, they are super friendly and often ask after our girls and how our holidays have been. We are always greeted with a smile and would never bank anywhere else! Reviewed on: 20th November 2015

I've been with NatWest for years and the time all my money got stolen through my PayPal being hacked NatWest sorted it out and put the money I had lost back into my account. Very trustworthy, great that you can phone them any time of day. Reviewed on: 20th November 2015

Customer service is poor

I have been with Natwest for several years now and only this year I have began to have problems with Natwest, I have had some missing payments which were eventually investigated months after complaining! The customer service were not interested and transferred me through to the complaints department who couldn't understand English Several times I have had available funds showing on my account which shouldn't have been showing as available and have then went on to cause me to become overdrawn. a fantastic branch

5
I have been with Natwest for 4 years now and each and every time I have ever had a problem they are quick to solve it. I can get access to my account on a very easy basis and if I ever forget my card I can still get my money by texting myself a code and I then have 3 hours to use it. Its very easy to get appointments with the staff at Natwest and its also very easy to access there services and to open new accounts. So overall a fantastic branch to be with. Always recommend them Reviewed on: 4th November 2015
