Small mortgage for expat with a large customer deposit

Relatively straightforward to arrange although the Covid situation and the number of mortgages being requested due to the Stamp Duty 'holiday' did leave the process a little longer than originally anticipated. Whilst the loan to deposit ration was relatively low the onus on the valuation survey appeared to be relatively high. Reviewed on: 10th January 2021

remortgage to buy new house

Outstanding customer service, very personable service and when requiring additional borrowing to allow us to purchase a new property everything was done in record time despite Covid, something I know other big lenders were unable to do. Special mention to Luke Pummell for his assistance. Reviewed on: 10th January 2021

A great start

Excellent service

Many thanks for your excellent response to our request for a mortgage. Over 70's have a very hard time obtaining funds, but you came up trumps. Having sold our home we needed to invest in easy access savings accounts but had problems satisfying time wasting and semingly overly complex verification procedures. Newbury is in a small group of firms that employ credible and thorough verification systems backed up by intelligent, well trained friendly staff. Straight forward

We hadn’t heard about Newbury before, they were recommended by our mortgage broker after a more known lender pulled all their shared ownership products from the market during COVID. As first time buyers we didn’t really know what to expect from the mortgage process, after the terrible experience with the previous lender who changed their criteria form one day to another we had held out hope. All dealings with Newbury were great! Staff were unfailing polite, friendly and so very helpful. Communication was clear, forms were no nonsense and everything seemed to happen at a really good pace considering COVID and stamp duty holiday. So glad things happened the way they did, the experience with Newbury was worlds away from the other lender, and we ended up getting a better deal! Thanks Newbury!!! Reviewed on: 23rd December 2020

efficient and helpful

Our buy to let mortgage term was coming to an end, so our advisor organised a telephone meeting, explained our options and it was all done simply and quickly. This is how mortgage advice for existing customers should be done - very please with the service. Reviewed on: 18th December 2020
