Professional and Friendly

Starting with the phone call I made, I was given all the details about the savings accounts in a clear fashion. My visit to the branch enabled me to open the three accounts I wanted, which all carried very competitive rates of interest. Successfully opened new savings account

Catherine in the Abingdon branch dealt with our new account very professionally and in a friendly and efficient manner, and all the procedures went well, especially registering for online access. Reviewed on: 5th November 2021

Great customer service

We popped into the Basingstoke branch in the hope of opening a savings account fully expecting to have to book an appointment however the staff in branch went out of their way to help us and we had two accounts opened up for us within half an hour and our passbooks were delivered by post the very next morning. You have a great team in Basingstoke. Reviewed on: 5th November 2021

Almost closing my account

I had intended to close my account and invest the money elsewhere, but the action of the cashier stopped my intended transaction as she made me aware that I could get a better rate of interest by switching account Reviewed on: 5th November 2021

New Customer

I had some money to invest which was doing nothing in a Barclays Bank Cash ISA. Moved the money to Newbury as it is a local building society still owned by its members (not shareholders). Excellent customer service, better rates, tea and cake for 165th birthday on Monday. Barclays customer service awful. Reviewed on: 29th October 2021

Very helpful, pleasant & informative

I was recommended by neighbours what a helpful service you give in the Alton, Hampshire branch. The counter lady explained thoroughly to me about different accounts I could open as I had explained to her my requirements.
