Excellent service, both in branch and by telephone

Staff in your Winchester branch were very friendly and helpful when I went in to casually enquire about savings accounts. Having chosen a particular account to open, I was unable to immediately write a cheque for the initial deposit, but your staff explained how I could send my application by post when I had the first deposit ready and they gave me all the forms and details I needed to do this. Straightforward to open other than technical issues

My initial opening of a first account with Newbury was easy, no problems. However, when I came to login to check my funds had been received the online service was down. I just got a screen filled with progamming language. No problems since, so just unfortunate timing I guess. Would be nice if new members could invest more than £3000. Reviewed on: 4th November 2019

Great but wish transfers were quicker and you could save more.

Great customer experience with no complaints at all. Just a shame that the electronic transfer I made took several days to make it to my new Newbury Account. I am hoping things are speedier on any transfers out when the day comes. Would also be great to save more than the 3K. Reviewed on: 1st November 2019

I'm a regular searcher for good deals but I never thought to look locally until I read an article that told me that I might be missing out, and I was. It was so easy to create an online account and get a good savings rate as a new customer, and it seems that the existing customer rates are even better - wow that's a surprise most banks/building societies don't reward loyalty so its nice to be with somebody that does. Fabulous customer service

I am delighted to have recently set up a Treasure Plus savings account with the Newbury Building Society. I was pleased with the interest rate offered (much higher than other high street building societies/banks) and I received excellent customer service from Charlotte Couch. She was able to do all the necessary paperwork without me having to make an appointment to return on another day, was extremely professional, helpful and informative, explaining everything very clearly. I was able to phone her directly a few days later to check some details and she was, once more, very helpful. It was so refreshing to be dealt with in this way. Reviewed on: 28th October 2019

New customer - opening a savings account

What a contrast to being a customer at the likes of Santander, where there are two inauthentic employees standing near the entrance to greet you as you enter while only one employee sits behind the cashier's desks. At Newbury Building Society, there were two employees behind cashier's desks when I turned up a little early for my scheduled meeting with Will Simpson. Will was friendly, ethical, informative and efficient in opening a savings account for me as a new customer. As promised, I received my savings book the following morning in the post.
