Cheapest car insurance deal with no problems

Their quote was the cheapest around for car insurance. I uploaded my proof of no claims on their website, but never heard that it was accepted and ended up having to upload it again which was a bit of a nuisance. No phone lines to call as everything is done online which again was a bit annoying but no other problems. Reviewed on: 27th April 2020

Corrupt and total rip off - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Shocking - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! I had only been with Quote Me Happy for my car insurance for 1 year. The policy was due to expire in Oct last year and as with most car insurance policies it auto renewed. Unfortunately I did not remember to check this and my policy auto renewed. I then noticed that my direct debit for my insurance premium seemed very high so I went onto the Quote Me Happy online portal and realized that they had doubled my insurance premium!!! Just to be clear I had not made any claims with them, had 10 years plus of no claims and none of my other relevant details (like car, address etc.) had changed! They just decided to increase the premium by 100%!! Now we all know that sometimes insurance providers will try a small increase in premiums blaming it on the previous years claims or some change in market or legislation but a 100% is completely unreasonable and bordering corrupt. Obviously Quote Me Happy do not offer a telephone number so I could not speak to anyone but had to e-mail/message them. After a couple of days they replied saying that this needed to be sent to their specialist complaints team. It then took 3 weeks for this specialist team to come back to me! This is 3 weeks to check my pricing and after all this time their decision - the pricing cannot be changed. The lady even went as far to say that I'm sure you can get far more competitive pricing and if I should have queried it at the time. I'm appalled! They've basically made a full years premium in half the time so have probably realized I wouldn't renew and thus decided not to do anything. I would highly recommend people avoiding such an insurance provider. They may seem competitive up front when looking around but their terrible customer services combined with the most shocking approach to pricing to an existing customer shows they are not worth the risk! I am going to escalate this to the financial ombudsman and cancel my policy. AVOID AVOID AVOID! Reviewed on: 21st February 2020

Horrendous, poor service and customer support

Wouldn’t let me change direct debit date, told me if I want to change you need to cancel your policy and start again. Followed there advice and discovered that the new policy they offered me has gone up from £62 a month to £140. Wouldn’t recommend them at all. They have no operative so any contact is via email and takes minimum 24hrs to respond. Just got a poor responds of sorry we couldn’t help you Reviewed on: 13th January 2020

Terrible!! Very happy to take the money and give nothing in return. There is no phone contact unless You have some claim. The only contact is via email and for the reply usually You have to wait until next day. I have spent £108 on translation of the NCD proof which met all the requirements mentioned on their website while uploading the NCD proof. And next day company comes back to me with another new requirement my proof do not meet. Clearly to avoid accepting NCD and increase the price. Avoid this company!

Where is the zero star option? Absolute disgrace of a company. We were purposely struck by a white van driver in an act of road rage. This sham of an insurer decided to accept liability without even asking us what happened or accessing the available CCTV which would definitively prove that we were not in the wrong. Not a single phone call, all via a web interface with a box for the narrative limited to 200 characters. The system allows document upload but apparently they cannot accept pdf!? so I email my full statement instead. 9 days later and still no response, just more automated useless emails. Steer well clear of this 'company', a bunch of fraudsters. Reviewed on: 19th December 2019

Cannot speak to anybody over the phone, no phone number to call.

When it says online, it is online only! Trying to speak to someone for assistance is impossible. It should be illegal for a business not to display a customer service telephone number. I had a fraudulent claim made against me. No payment was made from my insurance policy and the Q system was updated but I have been unable to speak to anybody at Quotemehappy to restore my no claims discount. This is having a bad effect of future quotes as I left this company. Reviewed on: 13th November 2019

Dreadful!

Appalling. There is no customer service phone number. The on-line messaging is dreadful and no one replies! They renewed my policy without permission and then charge £25 to cancel. I would NEVER use them again. :( Reviewed on: 8th November 2019

THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT NON RENEWAL. TRIED CANCELING WITH THEM SEVERAL TIMES

I got a better quote from Shelia's Wheels I went to Quote me happy's website to let them know I would not be renewing with them several days before my insurance renewal was due - they even asked who my new insurer was and how much I had paid I even told them and still I have got threatening emails and letters from them to which I responded every time that I would not be renewing with them and to stop harassing me! And, today I have received a letter from them requesting I pay the full amount for my car insurance from 27-072018 to 27-07-2020 they can't even get that right, "to avoid taking further action" if not paid by 05-09-2019. Wow some company. The worse thing is their is no one to speak to to try to resolve this. So I will have to let them take me to court and resolve it there. Reviewed on: 2nd September 2019
