RAC breakdown cover is available in three levels – Basic, Standard and Extra.

RAC claim to get to most breakdowns in 60 mins or less and say that patrols fix 4/5 breakdowns on the spot. In the myRAC app you can get savings on fuel and tyres. Options are available for vehicle cover, personal cover and family cover.

ETA stating 12.20 am until 3.20 am still evem though this was different to what the call handler at RAC was saying and still no call back at 10pm Thanks RAC your services are diabolical of course I am happy to he kept waiting all night when I have work the next day and of course I appreciate you leaving me anxious and afraid Update 22.17 rang RAC breakdown again as still not received a call in relation to escalation. Spoke to Philip who is the rudest customer lack of care agent I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. Basically not his problem that my 2 previous escalations had not been logged told me he wasn't a mind reader so couldn't say why the previous call agents hadn't escalated my call and proceeded to hang up on me honestly you couldn't make this up! Being taken to the local garage with a metal bar, lovely!

Just received an email that for a missed payment due to other payments taken from my account I will be charged a hefty £25,and my insurance for a month is £29.Are you kidding me? A RIPP OFF COMPANY, which sadly won't realise until you already signed with them. Doing a research apparently a change of address would cost you the same and to cancel fee is at least £55.Right now I would love to speak to Mark Godfrey the Head of the insurance! AND I SHOULD SHARE HOW GREAT YOU BREAKDOWN COVER IS Too since I had to stay behind the wheels at - 3 Celsius with the window open behind a recovery van and a piece of metal, didn't you hear of platform, not to mention my car is automatic. To summarise I DON'T RECOMMEND RAC AND YOU SHOULD BE AWARE IF THINKING OF BUYING INSURANCE FROM THEM AND READ THE SMALL PRINT! Reviewed on: 7th January 2017

Expensive Platnium breakdown cover is a ruse

When purchasing my vehicle I regretfully believed the car salesman that RAC breakdown cover was a good product. I paid £1099 for the platinum version which was meant to offer great cover if anything were to go wrong with the vehicle. Well, something did go wrong with the vehicle which was expensive to fix and RAC have angled every way they possibly can not to pay. Honestly, save your money and do not go near this company. RAC Rescue

Have been with the RAC for a few years and did not have to call them out until a few weeks ago! We were travelling to Wales for our family holiday when we broke down! After a bit of a wait a lovely chap arrived and managed get us going again! Worth every penny :) Reviewed on: 11th October 2016
