Some Good Perks

Still have High Street branches with a customer service desk for instant answers to any queries, with a good appointment service for more in-depth meetings. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Would rather do anything than serve you

For a company that promotes itself as being at the centre of the community, every time I go to any of their branches there are huge queues with only one or two tellers working but they always seem to have somebody available to walk up and down the queue asking you to use the self service machine or use online banking. I receive no benefits from my current account so I at least expect some human interaction. Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Positive Experience

I've banked with RBS for many, many years and have never had any issues with them. I have a current account and 2 savings accounts. I use the mobile banking app which is fabulous! Reviewed on: 6th November 2017

Alteration to joint account

My disabled wife is unable to hold a pen to sign the documentation for her name to be removed from our joint account.. My telephone inquiry baffled the Agent so was offered a time slot for my Branch to ring me next day. I waited in but no one rang and when I visited my Branch, there was no apology or explanation for the broken promise of a call and I was told bluntly, "We cannot help you. You are stuck with a joint account." No further advice was forthcoming. so I am closing the account and changing banks. Reviewed on: 4th November 2017

Mainly Excellent

Really friendly staff and it is generally really easy to set up accounts, especially my savings account. The only problem I ever had was when I changed to a student account and I didn't receive my new debit card, but when I told them they sent it right away. I'd highly recommend this bank to anyone. Flexible, helpful, local

I've banked with RBS since my University 'overdraft' days....that's over 20 years! I've also got an account with Santander, Barclaycard and my husband is with HSBC (who are such a corporate super bank with terrible customer care). Despite me living in Sri Lanka my RBS branch is in a local town in Lancashire. Staff are friendly, helpful, they go the extra mile and make you feel like your custom and satisfaction does really matter. I rarely hear good comments about banks these days, but I am very happy with RBS and I would highly recommend them. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2017
