Average bank but you can't really rely on them

When I've had dealings in branch I just can't rely much on the staff for following through on actions they've promised. All the online services are great though. It's just the branch staff are a bit meh. Reviewed on: 17th January 2017

It's a current account, nothing more, nothing less,it just is. Nothing stands out.

There are so many providers offering products and add ons with their current accounts. I think RBS lacks this facility and is falling behind compared to other banks. With all RBS's bad press I would suggest it rectifies this anomaly. Reviewed on: 17th January 2017

Current Account

Not much to say really. The basic current account is ok for me. It does what I need. Transfers are easy and can get overdraft if needed. No faults really just a basic account. Reviewed on: 15th January 2017

Poor customer service

The worst company to bank with - I managed to get into debt a number of years ago and they allowed it to keep happening and levying high charges on my account to impact the issue. They were very helpful in helping me sort matters out. Reviewed on: 6th December 2016

Basic Basic Current Account

It does what it says on the tin. Staff are very friendly and it's easy to get in touch with someone to rectify a problem. However, I recently went in branch to query setting up a help to buy isa, only to find out that RBS was not taking part in the scheme. The reason stated was the cost to RBS didn't make it viable. I am therefore looking for a new account as every other bank seems to have understood the bigger picture in this. Reviewed on: 24th November 2016

If you're not tech savvy....forget it..!

RBS has closed the branch in my village, counting it's pennies I hear. I'm now reduced to either online banking, telephone banking or some basic transactions at the Post Office. What happens when my laptop plays up and I can't do online..! They won't confirm that they'll keep the ATM going in the village. I'm supposed to use cashback if they take it away. With regard to telephone banking...if it's not on their screen in front of them, you can't do it. Staff are very polite...but that doesn't mean you get good customer service. I didn't create the mess that RBS is in...but apparently I've got to be part of fixing it..! They send a mobile bank for half an hour once a week....seriously guys, are you kidding...! I'm a carer to my seriously disabled husband and we don't have a large enough income to pick and choose our bank otherwise I'd leave them in a heartbeat. Love RBS and my local bank fantatsic face to face and over the phone/service counter

So I had my wallet traumatic experience but RBS branch staff aided me in taking the some of the frustration and anxiety away by quickl ensuring cards were cancelled, re-ordered and confirming notes on system were made if someone tried to use my cards, especially due to them being contactless. Great customer service, always a friendltt face fll of information. Overall had fantastic service throughout my entire banking life-since I was 16 :) Reviewed on: 17th November 2016
