Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

SAGA ..a unique personal service

SAGA is an amazing insurance company for elderly people (I am 76 years old).They are very patient and good at explaining things on the phone..and don’t keep asking you to read lengthy documents or refer you to online sites. Helpful advice and info. Adding a person to my policy for a short time was problematic but the advisor was very helpful and found the info required. I feel that should I need to make a claim it will be managed well and not be turned into a nightmare. Reviewed on: 13th August 2025
