Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Travel insurance ...value for money

Saga quoted me less than half of the inflated price demanded by by previous insurers , for some years, with no claims, following the discovery of an irregular heartbeat which was clarified as non health threatening, by a battery of tests and a consultant's report......they , in fact DOUBLED my premium......the saga team were helpful,patient and made me feel worthy ,instead of an idiot 80 year old who was not with full faculties.....Saga were professional and extremely competent , inspiring confidence in me.....long may I travel...!!!!!! Great cover insurance company

I unfortunately had cause to make a claim recently, when my car got written off. There was some frustrating miscommunication initially, but all came good in the end and my car qualified for "New for old" replacement as I had taken out their excellent courtesy car extension, which covers that incident. Top grade cover at realistic prices

Great comprehensive car insurance cover at a reasonsable cost. Staff always friendly and helpful when contacting them with regard to my policies. They do great motorhome insurance too which is why I have my car and motorhome insured with SAGA. Reviewed on: 30th September 2021

Saga overall rating

In the past year I had a stationary incident where my vehicle was damaged during a stay in a hospital carpark when I was not even present. Thanks to a good citizen witness who left a note on my windscreen with the culprit's Reg and vehicle description, my claim was accepted and handled with great care and empathy by Saga who provided a replacement vehicle of high quality and ensured that I was not held liable for any costs. Replacement vehicle delivery and collection of my car plus return were done to my home address. The repair standard was excellent. Reviewed on: 30th September 2021
