Sheila, the wheels have come off.

Been trying to add a new driver to a policy for 4 days in a row. I’ve tried using the online method, put all the details in and get a message at the end saying I need to use the chat feature and speak to a “specialist”. I use the chat feature, if you connect to someone, it either disconnects or they just stop replying. I managed to give a “specialist” all the info required for them to say that there is an issue with their system and they can’t add a driver right now, but will send an email when their system is working again and I’ll be able to add the driver, obviously I Never received an email. I’ve now spent my Sunday calling, the first call I waited on hold for 40mins, I connect to an advisor, give them all the info, all they need to do is give me a quote… they hang up whilst waiting for their system to load. I think surely they’ll send me an email with the quote as they have all the info they need from me. Nope, no email received, so I’m now on hold again for over an hour, waiting for someone to answer the phone :) in all… avoid Sheila’s Wheels, and spend a bit more £s on your premium so you don’t have to go through a well spent Sunday listening to hello darkness my old friend whilst on hold (that is genuinely one of the songs on the hold music playlist) resisting the urge to take your toaster in the bath. Auto renewal

f you buy a policy with Sheila’s wheels they will automatically put you on auto renewal. It is almost impossible to cancel this either on line chat or by telephone. No one answering either! My renewal has gone from £750 to £2500 with no claims or convictions this year, obviously I’m not accepting this, but they make it almost impossible to decline! Terrible experience

I had a terrible experience with this insurance company. I had an accident last year, I did the claim the same day to avoid delays. The way Sheila’s Wheels dealt with it was terrible. The webpage didn’t work most of the time, if I called I had to wait for hours to get response. It was very chaotic that basically I had to ring several times to know if I could get a courtesy car or to check for updates on the claim. I sent an email to ask for an update and I received a call weeks later; they said that the case was closed and the person asked me if I was informed about this. It sounded like a joke!! Then they informed me that it wasn’t my fault but in the webpage the status is still blank. ( this claim was done in September last year) Now as I paid £100 excess, they told me that I had to contact directly the insurance company of the other person involved to claim the money back. Apparently for them to do something I needed to pay legal protection. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.PLEASE AVOID!!! Reviewed on: 3rd January 2024

Do not take complaints seriously

Very poor communication in fact no communication except for the complaint acknowledgement email with a 6 weeks target,you are told someone will call you and nobody calls 6 weeks later no contact but receive another email stating for them to investigate further it will be another 8 weeks , they cancel your policy without notice meaning any other insurance you try to get is now doubled. I am giving one star as there is not an option for 0 stars. Since being taken over by Esure, this company is impossible to deal with. Diabolical in fact. It took me 3 days to make contact to cancel my car insurance when I sold my car. This meant that the new buyer couldn't drive the car. I couldn't cancel online, was told to call, when I called I was told to go through the Esure chat-bot. The chat-bot said that it wasn't working. I tried to call over 3 days and after numerous times of being on hold and then the phone cutting off at their end after 45 minuted plus, I got through. The member of staff went through the cancelation process with me. I actually sent an email to their customer service and trading standards and I'm not usually one to complain. I received a letter asking to call as they were giving me £50 compensation for my trouble. Great? No. So to get through and action this, I have been through the above process, put through to different department and then the line cuts off. But that is not the worst. When I got though just now, I have found out that my car insurance is still live. Now I want to cry!!!! I have just been on hold while they are supposed to be looking at this, and guess what? After 50 minutes, the line has cut off from their end. This means that I am driving my current car illegally and so is the owner of my last car. Witts end!! Reviewed on: 23rd November 2023

Absolute rubbish

Don ‘t answer phone. Phones to them cut off after spending hours trying to go through. Very bad experience trying to report an accident. Their web page is no better. Can’t report the accident on line because can’t log in or register on line. Worst experience, don’t use them at all, total waste of time Reviewed on: 15th November 2023

Shocking in EVERY WAY

Shocking! Never received policy docs. Threatening email when claim made against me despite me trying to notify them by phone (waited every time over an hour at least & had to abandon calls, tried to contact via website chat - went round in circles). Finally, today got through on virtual asst (after 50 mins) and Slungile left the chat midway, as I was typing a question. Personal acct area of website is absolutely useless, can't do anything without going via virtual asst which never answers the query. Have no idea what is going on with a claim against me & cannot get through. Have used them for 4 years but they are not the company they used to be.
