Pain (and effort) free banking

I was a satisfied customer of a traditional bank for many years, until they withdrew a customer perk that I'd liked, and when I complained, they invited me to look elsewhere. So I did. I'd always been shy of online banking, and while I'd used it, I had never banked on an app, and never thought I would - being 72 now, my early adopter phase has long gone. But having decided to look around, I thought it only fair to consider the 'neobanks', especially as you can't slide a razor blade between the offerings of the traditional banks, unless you start counting branches. Starling immediately looked attractive: minimal, no fuss, no grandiose claims, and no branches; I'd only entered my bank on about three occasions in 20 years, and that was to use a cash machine out of the rain. I was further impressed with a smooth transition. No errors, no anxiety, up and running from Day 1. And the app is a dream. easy to navigate, easy to use, excellent and instant communication, easy set up for payments ... I could go on endlessly. I just love it. My only anxiety is that it might get swallowed by a desperate old-style bank fearful of the competition and anxious to restore their falling numbers! Reviewed on: 20th September 2023

Best Mobile Bank

Best bank I have dealt with, no BS fees for currency conversion or overseas transactions, easy to mange spaces, clearly shows spending, virtual cards and so much more. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023

Glad I switched

Having been with one of the larger banks for a very long time I came across Starling and decided to move to them. One of the major reasons was their foreign exchange policy. Having children living abroad, when it comes to visiting there’s no worry about that ‘commission’ that some other banks like to charge. Also, even though online they are easy to contact, plus with many high street banks closing, like the one I was with, accessibility is key. I’m glad I switched. Reviewed on: 28th July 2023

Prodigal returns

I was with Starling for quite a while, and then went over to the "dark side" and moved to NatWest and claimed my reward money. I stayed with them for a few months, but had to go back to Starling. Their app is so intuitive, I find it so easy to use. I love the fact that you're able to see when money is coming in and out of the account for the following day or after the weekend. Very easy to deposit cheques (take a picture). Card excellent for overseas spending and cash withdraws (check Money Saving Expert website) Very happy that I returned; I cannot see my self leaving again Reviewed on: 18th July 2023
