Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Fantastic company

After a some difficulty with my mental health, I got into serious debt and couldn’t see a future. Stepchange helped me with breathing space initially, and have supported me while I found the strength to get on top of my finances and build a plan. Stepchange have changed my life, quite literally!

Stepchange have changed my life, quite literally! Over the course of some years I managed to build debts up to £65,000, the debts comprised of loans, credit cards, finance and overall the payment's were starting to cripple me financial. I couldn't afford to make each payment over the course of the month and the worry this caused was debilitating. It was through a friend that I was recommended to contact Stepchange. They were absolutely fantastic, putting my mind at ease and guiding me through the process of how I could not only manage my debts but with Debt Management Plan, pay them off. They formulated a payment plan that allowed me to continue to support my family but also pay off the debts. They dealt with the creditors directly so I didn't have to and I now had one point of contact to deal with it all. It was just over four years ago that I contacted them and in a couple of months I will be debt free. Throughout that time StepChange have been incredible, on occasion I struggled to make payments due to unforseen things coming up, so long as I contacted them to let them know they made sure everything was taken care of. For anyone that has any debt that they cannot cope with please get in touch with them, they are truly amazing and will I can't thank them enough for what they have done for me! An amazing service.

An amazing service. I am nearly debt free after being in a real mess. They liaised with my creditors and supported me through every step of the process. Every time I spoke to someone they were understanding, kind and most importantly competent. It’s like having a specialist lawyer at your disposal… for free! I can’t think of any other services in our cynical world like this, totally for our benefit with no strings attached. Reviewed on: 1st May 2024

They helped save my life

I was at my wits end, 3 failed suicide attempts and finally my boss recommended step change and they have helped me every step of the way, I'm slowing getting my life back thanks to them, I highly recommend them, and thank them for all their help because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't be here today. Gave me more than hope
