Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Life change lesson

I have over the last few years my debts built-up because I became disabled, which was because of my job. I had to go on benefits and my debts built-up. I was advised about step change which did change my life excellent and professional advice. 10 out of 10. Reviewed on: 14th July 2023

Relief

I was in debt and didn't have the income to keep on top of the payments. I couldn't stop worrying even trying to sleep so had an impact on my mental health. The best out there.

Struggled with debt for a number of years. Step Change is a no nonsense, straight talking debt advice charity. They help you pick the right option and deal with all your creditors afterwards. They were there when I needed them most

You never think you’re going to get into a situation where your income is less than your outgoings but unfortunately due to a few circumstances changing, I did, I contacted step change and set up a DMP. The whole process was easy and they have been very responsive either way. This is a very difficult time at the minute, the cost of living is high and I’m so happy to have step change to offer the support and guidance during this time. Reviewed on: 14th July 2023
