Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Lifechangers

Stepchange changed our lives. We had beeen struggling to pay things, always using cards as a top up, to pay for weekly shopping etc until things had to stop. Credit card bills spiralled and we simply were just paying interest. Things had to change and we contacted stepchange, the staff were very helpful, non judgemental and made us feel at ease. Honest, financial support you can trust

Step Change has provided relief and eased my mind. Knowing that this support was available to me and for others came as such a comfort. I felt overwhelmed and not sure where to turn. Excellent service

When all roads was closed Step Change stepped up

After losing my wife to Cancer leaving me with 3 young children, I had to give up on my business and employment to look after them relying on my savings and credit cards and then applying for Universal credit. I Got myself into serious debt, especially with energy suppliers, I couldn't see a way out until I spoke to Step Change, and they came up with a solution where all parties had to agree on a repayment plan, pay my creditors via Step Change and I can administer care to the children. I can’t describe how grateful I am! It is/was really a step change if you want to make a difference in your life! Simply the Best!

When I was down Step Change came to my rescue and really stepped up to the plate. I found customer services friendly and did all they could do to help find a solution. They patiently talked me through everything I needed to do and between us they came up with a solution. As a result I feel like I am back in control of my finances.
