Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Stepchange have honestly saved me. I was in such an awful financial situation with no idea what to do. They broke everything down for me and arranged repayments on my behalf. Very helpful and thorough

Hi I'm Michael England I have been in crisis over the past years with many problems and I owed money out to three different lenders. My mental health is very poor at the moment and this all was causing me lots of stress. I've become depressed, suicidal and I self harm my wife divorced last year who h caused even more stress. I contacted step change whilst in a rehab for trauma and they were very helpful and guided me well through the whole process even though I was depressed, traumatised and my moods were all over the place. It was a great weight of pressure lifted from me and now I continue to become hopefully much better over the next months or years and then get back into work and regain a normal life I hope. Helped with peace of mind to manage by debt

I had extensive debts that I needed help to get to a position to manage with my creditors. Step change have been great in helping me and dealing with all my creditors to get agreement on repayment plan. I have peace of mind now knowing my debts are on track to be repaid. Excellent service

I had parted from my long term marriage, an was left to sort out all the debt my husband had accumulated, so was under so much stress, I got in touch with step change, they were amazing helping we get all my creditors in one place, an creating a debt plan to suit my low income, thank you so much, you deserve some credit for all you do. Saved my home

I unexpectedly became ill and I had to reduce my work hours. I could have lost my home if it weren't for Step Change (and to be fair, the understanding of Marks and Spencer Money).
