Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent experience with Stepchange. Advisor made me feel at ease and was so helpful when completing my application. They talked me through each step and then discussed the best way to proceed. I wish I had contacted Stepchange sooner

Really didn’t know what to do, lots of credit card debt. Spoke to Stepchange and there is no judgement just lots of help and advice. Given options. You are encouraged to take everything into account, even things that you perhaps don’t think of, but they do. You get regular statements so you know how you’re progressing. I find they are available by phone to speak to someone, an actual person, if I have a query. I’m now managing both my money and my life with so much less stress.
