Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

They really help personal circumstances

This charity is a life saver. I have navigated my way through scary and overwhelming personal debts with their help and knowledge, I have a clear plan and way through with monthly manageable repayments on my debt management plan and its been a life saver. I couldn't recommend them more. Step Change changes lives by even helping people to avoid committing suicide from serious debt that can plunge some people into even depression.

Step Change Debt management service could never ever get any better than they are. They have piloted me through "a dark tunnel" of further plunging deeper into my debts. I don't know how I would manage without Step Change. They are one of the best in this area. Tbh, I was on the brink of moving to another country in exile and assuming a new identity and just abandon the best but then Step Change rescued me by; "tossing me a Life jacket in the middle of the ocean, drowning in" my in debts of approximately £22,00. Now I'm pleased to say just how Step Change has restored my feeling of despondency, ie they advised me on how best to managemy debts. L.H. Reviewed on: 12th August 2022

I can breathe again!

A friend recommended StepChange around 4 years ago and they have 100% given me the most helpful advice in a respectful and unpatronising manner. They gave me options that fit my situation and then helped organise the one I chose! Honestly, for the first time in a lot of years I felt I could breathe again!!
