Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Step Change changed my life.

Step Change changed my life. For the first time in my life I had my finances under control but it did mean facing up to the realities of life, living with just the bare essentials for nearly 20 years. Light at the end of the tunnel thanks to Step Change.

Step change took the time to understand myself and my situation which helped me feel at ease. I have a debt management plan set in place where I can see exactly how my debts are slowly getting smaller month on month. Have a plan in place with the length of time agreed, makes me feel that I will get through it and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am very grateful to Step Change. Thank you.
