Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Bad debts to no debts and less worry.

I was in debt with about 7 different companies, with me having bad mental health ,worry about these debts made my mental health far worse. Stepchange took over control of payments of my debts,I pay one affordable payment to Stepchange and they devide that monthly between the companies that I owe,I in my last year now ,and then I will be debt free. Step Change gave me back hope. Every advisor I have spoken with has been kind, positive and supportive, as I got into debt through my now ex-husband it was really important to me that I was not judged by anyone and I never have been. Everything was explained clearly to me and any questions I have had since I started my debt management plan have always been answered promptly.
