Reassuring relief

Debt can be like swimming out of your depth. Suddenly you can't touch the bottom and, because you're not a strong swimmer, panic sets in. Recognised strokes become over-exaggerated thrashes of the arms and progress through the water, using it to keep afloat, turns into a battle to fight drowning. Such is debt. Stepchange appeared like a lifeguard with reassuring relief, calm professional understanding and uncomplicated solutions so that sinking once again became swimming and the safety of the shore a reality. Helped me back from the brink.

StepChange have helped me so much especially after a divorce and then being made redundant. I would not have managed to survive without their help and support. I'm still using them now but my debts are gradually disappearing and my mental health has improved dramatically. I wish I could thank every person who has helped me from StepChange personally.
