Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was so worried about what would happen and how we would navigate out of our debt. Circumstances changed for us and we couldn’t see a way out. We got in touch with step change and I couldn’t believe how amazing they were. They literally went over everything with us and I mean everything-even things I hadn’t taken in to account. They took every single pressure we had away. We didn’t need to get in touch with the creditors. All information was given to step change and they sorted everything out. We chose DM as that what worked for us. However there were more option's available. the first call took a few hours so please make sure you’ve the time before ringing-not before the school run or just about to leave for work. Make sure you’ve got all your debts letters with account numbers and amounts you owe. Once you’ve gone through all of that. That’s it. Step Change literally do everything else for you. Once a year you revise your budget so payments can either go up or down depending on your budget. You can call or look online at things. I honestly couldn’t think of a better company to get in touch with regarding debt and your money struggles. They have been amazing for us for years. Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Life changer

StepChange , or CCCS as it was when I signed up for their help , managed to get me out of a very difficult and sometimes dark place . I really had no place to turn and ironically it was one of my creditors who put me on to you whilst they were calling me chasing for payment !! I can’t thank StepChange enough

I can’t thank StepChange enough for the support they’ve given me over the past couple of years. When I first reached out, I was overwhelmed and scared about my debt situation. I honestly couldn’t see a way forward. But StepChange helped me breathe again. From the very beginning, they were compassionate, non-judgmental, and incredibly knowledgeable. They worked with me to create a realistic plan, and since joining their program, I’ve already paid off a third of my debt. That in itself is a huge relief, but more than that, I no longer feel crushed by financial worry every day. They’re always on hand if you have questions or just need reassurance, and that level of support makes all the difference when you’re feeling anxious or unsure.
