Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I have nothing but praise for Stepchange

I have nothing but praise for all the people that work at Stepchange. They make a very stressful time bearable and they are kind and considerate. The company has a great ethos and helpslaisie with creditors to agree a payment that is affordable without making you destitute. They are always there to support and the communication is very good. I felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel

I was inundated with debts from quick loans, unpaid overdrafts and credit cards during a long period of unemployment, but using StepChange has helped me recover, slowly but surely. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who feels there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Now that I'm working, I can increase my repayments! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

As a debtor attempting to cope with creditors and stress at a difficult time in my life Stepchange made all the difference. The well structured procedures of this experienced charity are clearly well respected by creditors generally so inspire confidence, and provide time and space to manage and achieve a better outcome. Their support and individual attention to my circumstances exceeded expectations and enabled me to find a way through my difficulties, first by advice, then through a debt management plan and finally through their settlement service.
