Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent customer service, many solutions available

No need to worry about calling, staff are very professional with no judgement and guide you towards the best solution. Creditors finally off your back. Easy to use website to view or make changes to the plan, can take a while to get get through on the phone because staff are so busy, hang in there though you’ll feel so much better! Helpful Advice

The advice I've had has been very useful. Calculating a reduced amouint to pay my creditors so that they don't contact me by letter or phone anymore has greatly reduced stresss levels and increased my peace of mind. Debt-free light at the end of the tunnel

From the first steps of listing out exactly what debt is needed, through to the implementation of the plan and then the support team waiting on the end of the telephone, the entire process has been overwhelmingly great. From realistic budgeting to help setthe repayment amounts and the complete lack of problem when I had to miss one repayment do to unexpected problems with a car, nothing ever seems like a problem. I will be debt free for the first time in my life in just over two years, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Reviewed on: 11th May 2026
