Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

It’s difficult that if any issues arise while on the plan the client is left to contact the lenders and then relay back to StepChange where more effective would be direct communication between the two especially when it comes to clarifying reference numbers and bank accounts. Strong on Empathy and Knowledge

I found the staff very empathetic and knowledgeable. They understood my situation and explained to me what my options were to resolve my debts in an affordable and acceptable way to my creditors.
