Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

A life saver

Since 2010, my DMP is managed most professionally by Step change ( also the former service). Each of staff who answered my call was caring, kind, and knowledgeable to perform timely acts to continue my trouble less dependable repayments to my creditors for the last 15 years. Debt management

I had debt from multiple places, I didn't have the funds to pay so I was recommended stepchange through citizens advice,they help me put all my debts in one place and they contacted the companies for me I just had to pay what I could afford,now I'm going to be debt free pretty soon Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Generally very positive

I think advice regarding defaults was lacking that these should be prioritised early on as in my case some of them came late on and will drag out the associated impairment. Contact with staff has been very positive and informative. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
