Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Peace of mind regained

I had been been very worried and ashamed that my debts had got on top of me . Step Change rescued me and put me in a good place with peace of mind that all my debts were being properly managed and not overwhelming me. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

I got myself at the point where bankruptcy was the only option. Stepchange changed that. Now I can provide for my family with out struggling every month. I thought i couldn’t move sell my house and buy a new house. How wrong i was. It was an open honest conversation from the offset. Paul was brilliant. I’m now in my new house and loving life new to the sea. Still on dept plan. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
