Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Life changing

In my darkest moments help was available

After losing my job, I was finding it very difficult to cope financially and was recommended step change by a former colleague. I found the whole process very easy and completed everything online, once I'd done a budget, they were able to recommend the best solution for me. They were even able to sort out breathing space for me which was a great help as it keeps creditors off your back for a couple of months to get everything sorted out without constant phone calls if that's what you're getting. I've been on a debt management plan for nearly two years now and I'm finding everything far easy as a cope with, they are always available to help and are just a phone call away should you need them. Debt repay made easy and with less stress

Unfortunately life turned out to not be as easy as we think and had to ask for assistance from Step Change. Going through a token plan at the moment and some of the debts have been sold to other companies. So in the process of notifying Step change of a change, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah Tuppen. Sarah, from the bottom of my heart, you are making a massive difference. A warm, welcoming and reassuring voice in difficult times make a huge difference. I would like to thank you for the time taken in having a conversation with me today, the advise and reassurance given and really hope you team leader / manager will get to notice this review.
