Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Debt free with support from StepChange

For years I struggled with my debt and Stepchange were there when I needed help the most. They helped build a positive communication with my creditors and, with some hard work and tough choices, I am now debt free. The online portal helped me track my budget, my payments and what progress I was making. With the budget calculator I never paid more than I could manage but, the Stepchange dealing with my creditors and having interest frozen, I was able to get on top of it all.
