Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Feeling back in control of my finances

After going through a divorce I was left with debt. With 2 small children and a part tine wage it was really tight. I had to live on credit cards to live for a bit and that coupled with the marriage debt it was tough. My mum who watches Martin Lewis like a borderline stalker recommended Stepchange. I was ashamed to need debt help but Stepchange staff do not judge, they made me feel that I could pay this off over time at a monthly amount I could afford. The relief after the first phone call was immense. I now have a realistic monthly amount to pay and no letters or demands coming through. My life is alot better for doing it. I feel back in control. Without the support I have had from step change debt...

Without the support I have had from step change debt management service I don’t know how I would of coped over the last few years. There staff are so understanding and extremely supportive to me. Great company for me!

Great company for me!! So helpful and done with no judgment! Makes you feel at ease as soon as you speak to them!! Help when I needed it mosr

I have fallen into difficulty after the death of the person I lived with for 20 years as I have lost his income towards the bills and everything I tried to help myself was not working. I contacted Stepchange and managed to get the process started quickly. They do the work for you.
