Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

A helping hand.

Six months before we retired we knew we would have debts we could not cover with our pensions so we contacted Stepchange who got in touch with our creditors and arrange a debt management plan for us .What a relief, it took all the worry and stress away. Step Change

Stepchange have been really helpful to me and because of this, I’m on the way to getting things sorted. The staff are helpful, don’t judge and don’t patronise. Everything is made crystal clear and all the options available are explained clearly. Never feel judged by the assistant on the phone. They are helpful and knowledgeable which is what you need when you’re trying to sort out your finances. If there’s a change it is easy to contact them and adjust payments as needed. Takes away the pressure of contacting creditors individually which would be time consuming and a struggle.
