Diabolical, avoid at all costs. Rip off

Cancelled insurance due to selling car. 1 hour on phone on top of the nearly 2 hours the day before. Extortionate fees for leaving, I spoke to numerous advisors and the amount I would have to pay to cancel kept changing depending on who I spoke to. Sadly the advisors did not have a clue and thought it strange that I would like to know how they worked out what I was due back. I think I may have developed a stomach ulcer through sheer frustration. Please avoid and don't be fooled into thinking you have the best price because you sure won't get the best customer service. rip off

i went through close brothers who swinton are part of ,i was quoted one premium and monthly payment when i "signed" the agreement which looks dodgy as hell when i looked at it and the monthly price had doubled!!!!! I spent the best part of nearly an hour trying to cancel it and all i got from the overseas call centre was we need to go through data protection(which they dont)one even said my name but said i cant tell you anything about it unless we go through "data protection???"AVOID SWINTON WITH A VERY WIDE BERTH you have been warned,im now trying to get the 2 payments they took off me back and cancel. Car accident

My wife had an accident on the 26 th July,after numerous phone calls to numerous companies,Swinton doesn’t sort it for you?? 15 days with no courtesy car,15 days and no further forward,this company is making us ill,avoid at all costs, looking more and more like a scam! Inept agents.

Got an online quote for £604.47 Unable to except my new car registration and advised to call. On the phone for 55 mins reiterated all the same information that I filled out online with the slowest agent only to be told the quote was upped to £1005.00. Unbelievable waste time and false quote given online. Within 5 mins with another company had insurance sorted. Don't waste time and energy on Swinton. Reviewed on: 1st August 2023

Charged for early withdrawal for car insurance.

Connected Swinton for car insurance and were assured their quote was the lowest possible. A friend asked us what we were paying then promptly organised a quote appropimately half that price online (and a list of at least ten others all substantially lower). Withdrew from Swinton's during the cooling off period and were charged £25 admin fee - not mentioned when we signed up. Something of a win, win for them. Reviewed on: 25th July 2023

Emergency Boiler Cover Cost Me Hundreds

Boiler broke down in January. Tried using Emergency Boiler Cover I had paid for as part of my policy only to be told it would be a week before they could send an engineer even though I am disabled on the priority services register. They advised to pay for engineer and electric heaters myself and claim the costs back after. Sixteen weeks on, despite numerous requests, they've not even sent the claim forms let alone the £450 I paid. No customer service at all - just disinterested people who seem hellbent on avoiding solving any problems while being arsey on the phone. No response to multiple complaints. No response to email contacts. It is the worst experience of insurance I have ever had. Advise staying well clear of them. Reviewed on: 17th April 2023

Cant leave negative feedback on their questionairre

received a high renewal quote, but Swinton were unable to process a reduction. Was advised to call again before 7.30pm, called at 7.15pm and received an automated message that the offices were closed. Webchat was also going round in circles. This therefore led the policy to expire without being resolved and a new quote was far higher even than even the renewal quote. Webchat is hopeless Reviewed on: 19th March 2023
