Overpriced and bad customer service - online is cheaper.

I worked for Swinton Insurance and i took my first car insurance out with them before I worked there and i ended up paying 160 a month for my 0.8 ltr car when i was 18. Overpriced and the sales teams at the call centres are very aggressive in their sales techniques. Although Swinton may be best for home insurance or other insurances such as personal accident or breakdown insurance. Car insurance is best left to the online comparison professionals. Been loyal to them for a long time very helpful

Whenever I have had dealings with Swintin Iit has always been a very easy experience. They helped me no end when a lorry shed it's load all over my bonnet. They have always strived t find me the best deal in car insurance. Especially as I am disabled and driven a very modified car. Highly recommended Swinton. Reviewed on: 26th March 2015

Insured with Swinton Peterborough, Always do their best at renewal to match or lower quotes to retain my business, every time I call Im always greeted with a professional and friendly staff member, always knowledgeable. The have never tried to hard sell a product to me, instead they have come to get to know my needs over time and have done such a fantastic job of making insurance effortless and understandable that it would take something seriously drastic for me to ever conside... AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Asked about cancelling my policy but told I would have to pay £114 to cancel it because I am selling the car. I only took out the policy on 9th Feb so only had it for 2 months at £16 per month so how come an extortionant amount to cancel. The overall cost for the year was only £193 so for 2 months insurance this will cost me £146. Talked about a complete rip off Reviewed on: 25th March 2015

No claims bonus

When I switched to Swinton Car insurance thay askedme for proof of my no claims bonus. This is fair enough, so i sent them proof. A couple of weeks later thay phone sayingI must send proof of no claims, thinking it might have someow gone astray I sent the proof again. The same thing happened again, three more times, I am still not sure why I have to prove m no calmes every two weeks for the past three months. Reviewed on: 25th March 2015
