Amazing service

Suffered a none fault accident in March 19 having been with Tesco for a few years. Call to report incident was quick and easy with no trick questions and understanding call staff. Transfer to a claims manager, who took details and was informative. The same claims handler dealt with claim start to finish, and was always the same person to call me. Tesco settled at a reasonable price for my total loss, paid within 2 hours. Even paid for the car seats within a few hours too. I was very happy with the service, when I was offered the amount for total loss the staff allowed me time to consider the offer and were not pushy or reluctant to help. I was pleasantly surprised and I’d love to stay with Tesco but my renewal has come through too high, which is indeed very sad! Reviewed on: 7th April 2019

RIP off car insurance

I had a tesco car insurance policy this year but my car failed it’s MOT, so I decided the cheapest option was to scrap it. I bought a newer car on the Saturday and was hoping to just transfer my insurance over to the new car, but this was not to be. I ended up getting cheaper insurance with another company, (even tho my new car was more expensive and had a bigger sporty engine.) when I got hold of tesco on Monday, they charged me £40 for cancelling my policy(which I was kind of expecting ) but then charged me ANOTHER £43 for cancelling break down cover I never knew I had! I won’t be using TESCO CAR insurance again, even if they do come up the cheapest... rip off!! Reviewed on: 25th March 2019

AVOID

If you take out a insurance policy and go over your mileage you claimed they will cancel your policy. I took out a policy of 6000 miles and changed jobs half way threw my policy so I would be doing around 10000 miles a year. They refused to change my policy after speaking to them and cancelled it. Cancelled my car insurance - AVOID!

After struggling to upload my no claims discount, Tesco cancelled my insurance with no warning and refused to reinstate it leaving me stranded at work. They are also demanding I pay up front for additional extras such as breakdown cover for the whole year, immediately. Appalling customer service Reviewed on: 15th March 2019

Avoid... tesco won't refund money owed

Awful attitude when ending insurance due to car sale. I paid for a full years insurance. They refuse to refund monies owed by cheque. Will only send funds to an account which they know no longer exists. Complete joke. Will never use again due to poor service. Reviewed on: 12th March 2019

Accident claim solved within 5 working days

Tesco provides excellent customer service. My car got wrecked by third party, they wrote my car off on Monday and got payed out on Wednesday. The whole process took only 5 working days. They are very helpful, provide excellent customer service and always there when you need them. Recommend it to everyone! Reviewed on: 27th February 2019

Avoid at all costs

Tesco Box Insurance - wouldn't ever shop with Tesco again for this reason. Took out a 6000 mile policy and have been paying for Top up miles as job circumstances changed and needed to drive more miles... worked out how much I've paid totalling £2,300!!! Rang to cancel and for a refund of the 6 months cover I haven't used and Tesco claim I've paid for my 6000 miles policy and as gone over I'm not due any refund. So in total I've paid £2,300 for 6 months car insurance!!!! Absolute scam. Do NOT get Tesco Box Insurance. Reviewed on: 21st January 2019

Trouble-free with Tesco

Started a new policy with Tesco in May 18. Brilliant price, I had just acquired my 1 years no claim and the price they offered was half what I was paying previously and 1/4 cheaper than all the other providers. 8 hours into my new policy.... I crashed... All my fault, I was terrified of calling them, I could only imagine what they would be thinking..... 8 HOURS!!! I couldn't have been more wrong!!! They were amazing, cannot even begin to explain how fabulous they were! Their first question was, are you OK?! I profusely apologised for the whole situation and was told to not give it a second thought, that was what they were there for. My car had minimal damage but they insisted on it being repaired straight away and had me a courtesy car out that same day (my neighbour who I crashed into had insisted on dealing with his own insurance company as he wanted main dealer repair had a 2 week wait before his courtesy car came). They processed the claim so quickly and 2 days later they rang to check again that me and my children were OK following on from the incident. Even when my car was being repaired and I couldn't afford to pay the garage the excess (monthly wage), Tesco rang them and arranged that they would 'take their time' with the repair to give me extra time to get the money together. I had the courtesy car for 3 weeks! My renewal is up in 3 months and I can't wait to renew again with Tesco. Reviewed on: 11th January 2019
