Don't do it!

Don't do it! I chose them as best value for money when looking at different providers in August 2024. Then a tree came down in Storm Darrah yesterday, it fell on the car in my driveway. No-one was in the car. Luckily it didn't have full weight of the tree on the car as a wall was in the way, but there are dents in the roof and on the bonnet. Purely cosmetic - I can drive it to the garage, all the doors open fine. I filled in the claim form online, and took over an hour, and on the last page received instant notice that it's my fault, a total loss and I don't get a courtesy car. The car is perfectly fine. But a form tells me that it's a total loss? No ones come to assess it? This is criminal -You can't provide a service and assess something as written off if it's in your best interest and are financially motivated to do so. I assume you've done this because prices to fix cosmetic damage with the garage have gone up because of inflation. Its outrageous! The car cost me 10,000 last year second hand, this year it will be the same to re-buy, but I'll be lucky to get 3,000 from Tesco, just because it costs around that to get it fixed. I've now been on hold for 22 minutes trying to get an explanation... Just spoken to a woman who said will take 2 weeks to get an engineer out and not entitled to courtesy car while we wait for Tesco to assess the damage only if its in repair. Apparently that was an optional extra to pick when I signed up but I'm the stupid woman who didn't pick it. In summary: When a storm hits the UK, and a tree falls on your car while its parked on your driveway, it's your fault, and if your so lucky that it only scratches and dents the roof, it's a total loss, and good luck buying a car with the scraps they want to pay you. Shocking company

I was supposed to be buying a car so insured it with tesco, got there and the garage changed the terms so called Tesco to cancel the policy and they've taken £50 of my money off me, for not being conned into buying a car? Kicker is that they expect me to wait 10 working days for my own money, and then take £50 off me Intolerant staff, rude, uninterested in customers - was going to insure my other car with them but I'd rather not drive. Awful to deal with! Will never be using again

Was with them for 4 years. When the time came to make a claim, it took 2+ hours to get through to anyone each time I rang and took them months to authorise work to be done at my local garage, I had to ring numerous times to chase it up and was fobbed off with a different excuse every time. They have now recognised a fault with my telematics box and sent an email saying they had contacted me multiple times asking me to ring them about it (I had received nothing from them). I rang and asked if I could arrange for the engineer to come out after my final university exams were over as I was in the middle of them and wouldn’t be able to leave an exam to give an engineer my keys to which I was told ‘well surely you can just leave your keys with a flat mate on the day and use public transport instead can’t you?’ Even though I had explained all of my flat mates would also be in exactly the same exams as me! I requested an appointment on a specific date which is just under a month away when my exams are finished to be told they can’t wait that long and they will be cancelling my policy. big mistake to deal with this company

Don't recommend anybody to buy insurance from this company. I tried to speak with their costumer services but the lady wasn't helpful at all and just repeating the same sentences. Reviewed on: 16th April 2018

MOST THIEVING CAR INSURANCE COMPANY ON EARTH

If it was not bad enough a woman crashed into me took full blame and wrote off my brand new first car I ever owned. They were AWFUL. I got half of what I paid from the car, the worlds worst solicitors, I was supplied a piece of shit hire car for 10 days, was of work and nobody helped me with a thing. DID I MENTION THEY STILL MAKE YOU PAY INSURANCE FOR THE YEAR, INSURANCE FOR THE CAR YOU DONT HAVE.... Oh and they'll tell you to make a payment on the 1st of every month but take £20 out your account a day before the payments due and call it 'late payment'. All this company care about is ££££££. Rip off

My quote went up £158 had Made no claims off you in 4 years your new quote is now £550 looks elsewhere got the same type of insurance for £260. Would never deal with you again and invite all friends and colleagues never to approach you. Reviewed on: 13th March 2018

Incompetent

Lost my incident paperwork twice, got my address wrong and sent to different wrong addresses twice, only opened letters from 3rd party once i called them, massive delays, stroppy operators on occasion, and you are a ‘number’ as far no apology and an almost related ‘standardised letter’ even when they get things wrong and compensate. Unless they think they can get something out of it (like hoping you will have an injury that will earn them something) they are pretty disinterested in fighting your corner. Be warned........ thieves and unprofessional

They wasted all my time. i was the one chasing them on everything.They sorted me almost a month later and hiked my insurance more than 60% of which i was not at fault. They said i can add a car to my half gone insurance policy which i pay monthly in the next 28 day, when i did they increased my premium by £700 and said if i don't want to i should cancel and pay the rest on the insurance policy.
