Seamless service with a personal touch

I was attracted by FBS rates for a transfer-in cash ISA - not many providers accept transfers. The online application was slightly tricky for a transfer, but a telephone call resolved matters quickly. The call was answered promptly - no hanging on and pressing buttons for hours - and the FBS call-responder was patient and clear. After that everything went smoothly, the transfer was completed in well under the regulatory 15 days. Reviewed on: 17th July 2020

6 weeks of wasting my time

I opened a Junior Saver account for my son. It took 4 weeks to open and a further 2 weeks of constant phone calls when we could not register for online access. Until one day I finally got a knowledgeable tele-agent who advised me this account does not come with internet access. We live in Edinburgh. The branch is in Surrey. At what point did they think I would need to know this? I had to close the account and look elsewhere. Reviewed on: 2nd July 2020

Easy to deal with, clear info

On maturity of my Bond I was offered a very competitive rate to renew it. This rate was offered before maturity and honoured 3 weeks later when the product matured. Thank you very much. Good interest rates in current market

I opened a Market Tracker Saver and was confused about when I could pay any money into it. I am pretty sure that at the end of the account-opening process a note came up saying you would contact me to let me know. After some days and nothing arriving, I logged on to find my account was inactive. So I messaged FBS and they got back to me very quickly indeed and told me how I could pay in. And within a day or two I received the savings certificate. So, on the one hand, a confusing note but on the other, excellent customer service. Reviewed on: 27th June 2020
