Good rate and easy online account opening

I chose this account because it had the best rate available for an easy-access online-managed ISA at the time. Opening the account was straightforward and the only reason I haven't given a top rating is that I had to print and post a paper form to request a transfer from my old ISA provider. That really shouldn't be necessary in 2020. Reviewed on: 25th April 2020

Like the New Annual Savings Summary

Just received the new Annual Savings Summary pamphlet. Big thumbs up. Straightforward design, nice touch with the surname added on front and in logo in handwriting form. Overall, really good. I've not ever received such a personalised pamphlet from any other bank or building society that I have moneyed with. Reviewed on: 25th April 2020

Although I do not live near the Branch of The Family Building Society I always use the Internet,for any queries or opening new accounts.I know that I can always rely on a prompt courteous reply and opening new accounts with them is a simple procedure. Reviewed on: 24th April 2020

Disappointed with being ignored or at best dismissed after making a complaint

I reported that I was unable to access my accounts online despite being a long term user. I was replied to with a rather vague message saying thsi shouldn't have happened. Now it has happened again and I am still unable to access the account. Very poor in the current adverse climate! Reviewed on: 23rd April 2020

They mean well but get it wrong rather often

The interest rates are good but I feel somewhat curmudgeonly. Am I Victor Meldrew or does it always go wrong only for me when I interact with Family Building Society. e.g. I asked for 2 application forms and 2 transfer forms a while back. I was sent 2 transfer and 1 application. So I wrote again. They apologised and sent 2 transfer forms and yet no application forms. I wrote again, spelling out my request even more clearly clearly. They grovelled an apology but - you guessed it - have yet again sent 2 transfer forms and 0 application forms. I now have 6 transfer forms and 1 application fofrm when I need 2. What can I do to get it right?? This is not the first time they have made similar errors. The BS means well but its staff need to be able to read and act accurately on simple requests to inspire more confidence. Reviewed on: 20th April 2020
