Low isa interest rate

Why are you only paying 1.6% interest on 45 day notice account when other accounts are paying in excess of 3%. Is it because most people won’t move their isa. Well I will !!! Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

Reply from Family Building Society Decisions about interest rates are always difficult. Our rates are set on a combination of factors. We have to balance the interests of our savers and our borrowers, who pay the interest that savers receive. Please see our website for our full range of savings accounts and the current interest rates. We are aware that savers are even more conscious of the importance of getting the best rate they can at the moment and of course we hope our savers will stay with us, but we understand if you should decide to invest elsewhere. EFFICIENT SERVICE

For some reason, I am unable to send a secure message via FBS's website. Accordingly, I phoned and left a voicemail requesting a call-back. I was duly called back very promptly, and was able to arrange the closure of one of my FBS accounts without fuss over the phone. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2023

Easy Process

It was very easy opening a savings account online and registering for the online service. I received the paperwork about the account within a few days. Would recommend the Building Society to others. Reviewed on: 22nd April 2023

Keep introducing newer savings accounts

You have to keep a close watch on your savings with FSB as they keep releasing newer accounts with higher rates of interest. This means that you have to keep changing your savings account to their newest issue. They all do this to some extent, but FSB seems to do it more than most B Socs. Reviewed on: 21st April 2023
