Matured Bond

Encouraged to use online service. Used the service to give bond maturity instructions. Received an email confirming receipt. Maturity date came and went and nothing happened. Eventually spoke to a human who said that they hadn’t received instructions!! Assured me that it would be dealt with immediately. Nothing happened!! Sent two emails today and got an automated reply to say they were very busy!! Still awaiting return of my investment. I was initially going to re-invest but have lost all confidence in this institution - very unimpressed! Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

So efficient and pleasant to deal

So efficient and pleasant to deal with on the phone and really competitive interest rates. Unlike many, they still do postal accounts which we much prefer but you can do online if you so wish. Also you can phone them and they are very helpful. Documents come through quickly on postal accounts and with a Certificate. So, this is why we would recommend them. Reviewed on: 31st October 2025

Family BS among the Best

Being with several Building Societies, Family BS ranks among the best: Very informative, good interest rates and customer service. Only criticism is that they send a paper annual statement instead of by email or on the web site. Reviewed on: 30th October 2025

Open an account.

Went in to the branch to open an account. The assistant gave me the relevant documents to fill in and had crossed out the parts which did not relate to my application, thus saving my time. Passed the documents back, checks were made and I had the account I required. Everything went smoothly in and out less than 20 minutes. Reviewed on: 28th October 2025
