Would give a 0 star if I could. Very misleading company. Went to make a claim today however was told they Sent a ‘renewal’ in january that looked nothing like a renewal as nothing was clear and added in the fine print on page 7 of 25, in brackets, in with another sentence so not clearly stated, and writing so small you can’t actually read that they had changed the initial agreed excess of a flat £150 to £180 plus 25% of all vets fees which was not clearly stated at all. Very sneaky, do not have customers interests at heart and will never use again. Very deceitful company. Only offered an apology and to pass on feedback - not good enough. Absolutely abysmal experience.

Absolutely abysmal experience. I had the “Premium” package and expected meaningful cover when I actually needed it. My claim for £1,200.34 has been rejected, with the insurer relying on an exclusion for tooth or gum disease. My cat originally went to the vet because of an abscess. There were then several consultations, medications and investigations while the vets tried to establish what was actually causing the problem. A tooth problem was subsequently identified and eventually a tooth had to be extracted. The total bills came to £1,200.34. The eventual dental extraction was £620, but the rest included multiple consultations, medication, antibiotics and investigations.What I find particularly frustrating is the policy wording. The dental exclusion is buried deep within a lengthy 28-page policy document, under the detailed exclusions section. I found the wording unnecessarily difficult to navigate and confusing as a customer.The more you read through the policy and its exclusions, the more it feels like there is an exclusion for almost everything. It genuinely leaves you wondering what you are actually paying for and what would be covered when you need to claim. Despite paying for the policy, the entire claim has been rejected as dental-related. I'm currently appealing and trying to recover something from the £1,200 I've had to pay myself. Having now read other reviews, I can see many customers describing similar experiences. Unfortunately, my experience has been just as bad. £1,200 out of pocket. Extremely disappointing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR PET INSURANCE. I had a long battle with this company, essentially my dog requires an urgent operation and they cancelled my policy. The communication was awful and dragged out over 7 months. Although they have not taken responsibility for policy issues they have accepted the customer services was substandard. MORAL OF THE STORY- Invest your money into reputable company, even if they are much more expensive, there is a reason why you pay a premium. Reviewed on: 25th August 2026

Contractual and Rude!

My review of insurance: One of my dogs had a small lump removed, results showed it to be a cancer. Claim form completed online. Silence. Then an impersonal contractual letter was sent, excluding the lump from inception of the policy... (excellent Leonardo De Caprio film.) So my advice is to undertake training to become a vet or have your Pet CT scanned, or go to a fortune teller, so you can guarantee all present and future illness are listed before you take out insurance with these w&nkers. I have cancelled 2 policy's that were in place with them. So economically they have made a bad decision. But contractually they are correct... next time a "sorry to hear your dog had cancer...But...." would be a better way to start a communication with a CUSTOMER. ( dog is fine now and will rip the @rse out of anyone from IE who comes near him) Reviewed on: 31st January 2026

Recent claim

Unfortunately I needed to make a claim when my little dog fell very ill earlier in 2025. The Insurance Emporium were as helpful as it was possible to be. I was advised and guided at every step until final settlement. The payouts for hospitalisation of my dog were a bit short of what I had expected but met industry standards. Since my experience I have recvommended them wherever possible. Reviewed on: 5th September 2025

Why bother with dog insurance with Emporium

Having just lost my dog with a neurological ailment. Went downhill in hours, 2 emergency out of hours calls, to find Emporium will only pay out what they believe to be a fair amount. Find me a vet that charges the fee that Emporium offer, same went with consultation fees. Might as well saved my money over the 13 years he was insured Reviewed on: 9th June 2025

Inflexible customer service/communication.

Missed a payment on 2nd Dec 2024. Was emailed that day and on 16th yes. But this is a busy time of year and I have ADHD and dyslexia so have difficulty with emails. No call. No retry to take funds, no letter. Just cancelled the policy. Called on same day as cancellation and they wanted £10 to re in-state the policy. Reviewed on: 30th December 2024

Refused claim

Cat just diagnosed with kidney disease, made first claim ever with this insurer, refused my claim because my cat had seen a vet 4 years ago they say is connected to this problem even though all test results say otherwise so unfair. Reviewed on: 21st November 2024
