not feeling guilty at owning money

I've been with Triodos pretty much since it opened in the UK - probably heard about it on the Quaker network. I've got two charity savings accounts and one ISA, and I'm just glad that I can keep a nestegg while knowing the money is doing something really useful while I don't need it. I particularly like the reports about the small businesses that Triodos supports with my savings - real grassroots enterprises with few unnecessary overheads, really helping people less fortunate than I've been, and always environmentally responsible. I have had a Charity Saver account with Triodos Bank...

I have had a Charity Saver account with Triodos Bank for several years now. Not only do I know my money is doing positive things while I'm not using it, but I also chose to donate nearly all my interest to the Fairtrade Foundation, an organisation close to my heart. I don't get frequent statements sent to me, but I appreciate that not printing things is a good thing, and I could find out my balance online if I wanted to. Reviewed on: 10th April 2025
