Banking with backbone

I have never had a problem paying for a current account that gives me transparency, consistency and, above all, is positive for people and planet. Until I started banking with Triodos, after a deep dive into the institutional behaviours and investment strategies of the other UK retail banks, I never realized that it was possible to hand over a bank card with pride rather than environmental shame. Sure, there are times when transactions take a little longer, and there are sometimes a few compatibility issues with some payment software, but it is as nothing in return for knowing my money is no longer contributing to the climate crisis. The most ethical bank above all others, not just refusing to invest in immoral things, but also only investing posyively in green and ethical ventures which is unique. If you want avoid your money going into killing with arms or the wiping out of life via fossil fuel use, there is no-one else close to Triodos. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2026

Helpful friendly staff when you need to speak to someone, although the website and communication are so good this is rarely needed. Banking app is well set out and easy to use. Paying bills and transferring money much easier than with our other bank. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2026
