Appalling company to deal with.

Appalling company to deal with. Told the only way my son can access his savings account is to visit a branch. They have shut all branches. Put in a complaint and they agreed to arrange a Teams call. Took me more than an hour on the phone with them to arrange this due to their appalling systems. Now sitting on the Teams call and nobody has turned up. Sitting on their phone line on hold and nobody answering. I have never know customer service as bad. Reviewed on: 26th July 2024

Telephone line non existent

Unbearable number of options on telephone line for simple current account query. Might as well say we don't have enough money to run a customer helpline. There is a reason they are still a small bank! Reviewed on: 21st August 2023

Lack of branches and customer support

Great Account

I opened this Account to give me flexibility in my savings. I can save what I want, when I want with this Account. Also there is no waiting time for withdrawals, so I have instant access to my money whenever I want it which suits me perfectly. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023

Discrimination by accent used when called

This Bank discriminates if they don't like your accent and give false excuses to refuse to open accounts with them. I wished switch with them from my Lloyds business account to their Business account, chose them because my Business partner opened without issues with the SAME COMPANY BRAND NAME and the operation was smoothly, however when they call me given the excuse I have to request permission of BRAND NAME, my business is legit with more than 5 years old with a company house, no bad credit and no debt at all. I explained to them that my business partner opened an account with them ( TSB ) with a similar name and had not been asked for permission to use the name. Then why ask me ? the lady on the phone put me in hold for nearly 10 minutes and back with other questions for example how the business work, explained all with details, put me hold other few minutes and back with the answer.. - We were unable to open an account to you, no reason given, and raised a claim which took nearly 2 months to answer, the answer was wrong and they didn't explain yet why was refused open account with them, they back to the same issue about the business name, which is not true, they opened account to my partner without request that information, never was questioned the brand name, Sound like the person who call me didn't feel comfortable with my foreign accent and they decided no open account to me even I'm British citizen, their answer to my complain still is not the reason why be refused, just can see is a discrimination, on the meantime Virgin Money opened the account with not issues and permissions, where understood is not required, Now if TSB have different rules to opened bank account about brand names, why they no ask the same to my partner with opened the account with similar name and brand name ? ( A couple months ago ) I contacted the company about needing permission to use their name and surprisingly they responded, Not in the UK. A letter from their complaint department by 25 April ref 8767987 still given no reason, called to the reference number and extension offered, talked with a person not very friendly and informed them that they passed my concern and I will receive a call back, that never happened. Blocked from Business account for 3 days now..

We have a business account with TSB and both my son and myself have access to banking online. When my son tried to make a large payment through the app to a creditor he was blocked by the bank. On inquiring they gave a list of security things he had to do (by email!) which included sending photo ID's and proof he was a customer and held the account. The process was so long he left it for now. OK, so I thought I'll go on the app and pay the creditor instead. Not so easy. They were 'having problems' with the app I was told when calling them. So I thought, I'll log on using my laptop if the app is down now. Still no access and tried calling today (5th July 2022) again to ask why. The recorded message said 'we have an unusual number of calls today so please try again later'. So, can't access our business account, for 3 days now. Shocking. How can we run a business with a bank like this? We have had many more bad experiences with this bank, the list is too long to enter here. We would have left them a long time ago if it had not been for the Bounce Back loan we took out in 2020. With any luck they will go under and we can walk away, which honestly, I think may just happen. Reviewed on: 5th July 2022

Extremely poor service from a failing bank DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY. They do not even derserve one star. Reviewed on: 17th July 2020
