Admiral impresses with easy online processes, competitive pricing, and friendly, helpful customer service across car, home, and travel insurance. Many appreciate the multi-cover convenience and prompt claim handling when it goes smoothly. However, a large number find renewal prices frustratingly high and inconsistent, often needing to call for discounts. Claims experiences vary widely, with some praising quick support but many reporting long delays, poor communication, and unresolved issues that cause real stress.

  • Multi-cover options with Admiral make managing car and home insurance simple and cost effective.
  • Customer service at Admiral is friendly, knowledgeable and supportive when contacted.

Negative themes

  • Renewal prices often rise sharply and require calling to get discounts or reductions.
  • Claims handling can be slow, confusing and stressful with poor communication.
  • Customer service is frequently hard to reach with long waits and unreturned calls.

They are the worst car insurance company, I would rather stay without a car and depend on public transportation than insure my car with Admiral again. I felt betrayed.

Dire service, disgusting treatment, delays and games after purchasing Platinum (highest possible) policy with Admiral Insurance. I was hit while going round a roundabout on 7th December. The other driver admitted fault and liability at the scene and I submitted HD dashcam footage that was clear on the 8th. As I have an Audi (under warranty) and did not go with their preferred garage for repairs as I would lose my warranty if I did this, I opted informed them I needed an Audi dealership (where I had purchased the car). I was told as I did not use their garage I would not get a replacement vehicle and that I can use Auxcilus a partner company, I opted out of this as it would have meant dealing with a company that has hostile T&Cs and will try to make money out of your claim that are in no way owned or linked legally to Admiral Insurance. I spent 10 days of my life with around 2 hours a day trying to get feedback from them, I was told initially their engineers would take 3 days tore view the quote I submitted from Audi garage on 8th Dec, after a call every day until today (18th Dec) I now receive the info they have agreed the quote which only happened as i quoted that they had broken FCA IDOCS standards and would involve the Obudsmann. If you want to spend hours of your life, massive amounts of frustration, being placated by call services members that apologies but blatantly dont care about you or your claim and also purposely delay and disrupt the claims process then go with Admiral Insurance. I have used them for the past few years but will never use them again. Was now offered £100 to close the official complaint. All the time I have been without a car and not able to do anything or prepare anything for Christmas. Their response, hire one yourself and see if you can reclaim the costs from the other persons insurer...not sure what services they are providing here but it not taking care of their insured on a premium level policy. Assuming old Admiral teams that were good have been bought out and replaced by something that is DIRE. Read more Read less

My wife is a very careful and cautious driver and has never had an accident in over 25 years. She drives a BMW IX3. The initial blackbox review arrived today telling us that her driving is 'poor'. The smoothness was 4/4 and speeding 5/5 but the night time driving was 1/5 which gave an overall score of 'poor'. So, they decided that we drive excessively at night 10pm-4am. The fact is that she is 70 years old and generally goes to bed at 10.30pm. The exceptions are Wednesday and Friday nights when we go out (3 miles away) and get home by 10.30pm. So, 2 x 30 minutes per week which represents about 30 miles per month but reduces the driving score from 5/5 to 1/5. The problem is that the blackbox scoring is a very blunt instrument. It seems that driving at 10,01pm and driving through the night from a rave attract the same score, In any case the feedback is without detail and does not help. Overall, it seems useless as a tool to help driving, and I am actively looking round for a better alternative. Read more Read less

I bought Amiral Travel insurance and upgraded the cover thinking it woulx give me peace of mind. After returning from Marakesh, I realised I had left my reading glasses and tinted long range pair in the hotel room. I emailed the hotel but got no response so I claimed off my insurance. Ive been asked for documents several times and still have no settlement. I had only had the glasses for 4 weeks but Admiral say they are going to make me an offer! How long does it take for such a small claim. I will not be going with them in the future Read more Read less

The worst insurance company to deal with , when making a non fault claim. Happy to take your money on renewal , but that's it. This is a company that will send you from one person to another to discuss your claim, then a big sorry to say they cannot help you , as it's not in their script. However no managers or anyone with authority to talk to , as they cannot be approached. They even forgot that my car was in storage with them , yet I was receiving emails to say that the car is being repaired. IT's been over two weeks and a grand total of 16 hours on the phone with them and still NOTHING. Read more Read less

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Insult Added to Injury My car was written off after someone failed to stop at a crossroads. The other driver admitted full liability, so this should have been a straightforward claim. Instead, it’s turned into a complete nightmare. The insurance company’s offer for my vehicle is 25% less than what I paid for it in May this year, despite me having spent over £1,000 improving it since purchase. Their “justification” for the valuation was laughable — they compared my immaculate, well-maintained car to a damaged example with no leather interior, visible corrosion, multiple MOT advisories, and bodywork issues. I supplied every piece of evidence imaginable: photos, service history, receipts, comparable adverts — and their response was simply, “We’re sticking with our valuation.” No explanation, no logic, no fairness. Their only advice was to “go to the ombudsman.” I now find myself unable to replace my car with anything close to what I had. It’s financially crippling and deeply unfair, especially when the accident was entirely not my fault. To make matters worse, the representative I dealt with — Michael, from the Total Loss department — showed zero empathy or professionalism. His tone was cold, dismissive, and almost smug, as if he took pleasure in delivering such devastating news. He should be ashamed of the way he treats people. The whole experience has been utterly disgusting and is significantly impacting my mental health. If this company had even an ounce of integrity or compassion, they’d recognise the human impact of their actions. Instead, they’ve added insult to injury — both financially and emotionally. Be sure to agree a value for your car before insuring or you will be ripped off in a claim situation, regardless of it not being your fault. Read more Read less
